Main Wife of Amun.
Mut was symbolic of the divine mother. Similer to Isis and Hathor.
She is usually depicted as a slim women with a colorfull dress wearing
a vulture headdress. However her main symbol is not the vulture but
the lioness
linking her with
her northern counter part Sekhmet. Although most sceens with her are with
a vulture the amount of cat and lion statues of her far surpass that with
a vulture. She appears on almost every temple wall in egypt symbolizing
her importents as the divine mother of the pharaoh. She later melded
with Bast and the two became known as Mut-Bastet
